Makeup Tips and Tricks

Foundation - When applying foundation you always want to use a sponge. Using your fingers will cause a blotchy and choppy look. You want to be sure when applying foundation you blend down and away from your face. Do not blend your foundation in an upward motion, this will cause the tiny hairs on your face to stand out and look saturated.

Concealer – A general rule of thumb when using concealer is that it should be a shade or two lighter than your foundation. When applying makeup around the eyes be sure that you are dabbing as much as possible to prevent damaging the skin that is already extremely thin.

Blush – When apply blush you can either start on the apple of the check and brush down or start further back on the cheekbone and brush down. You always want to avoid the area around the eyes.

Lips - You want to start with a lip liner. However, as most have commonly been told the lip liner shouldn’t not be a different shade then the lipstick. The lip liner is strictly to define where the curve of your lips start and end. You want to apply your lipstick over the lip liner blending the lipstick into the lip liner. When applying product to your lips you want to avoid the corners of your mouth. This is a common place where product likes to gather and tends to look messy.
