Radiant Fall Skin
Radiant summer skin this fall!
Don’t you love having sun kissed skin? But how do you maintain it once summer is over?
The good news is that with a few tricks, you can easily maintain that desired warmth at any time of year! I’m not a huge advocate of tanning—as a redhead I would probably get cancer in 5 minutes! Fortunately there are lots of healthy alternatives to achieve glowing skin.
My Favorite techniques for Radiant Summer Skin:
H2O. Let’s start at the beginning. Water is the most basic, life-giving resource and we need it to flourish. Staying hydrated is the foundation of beautiful skin. Drink at least 3 Litres of water a day–4 Litres when exercising! Your body needs this much to function at its best. Water improves brain function, cleanses your organs and flushes out toxins, leaving your skin soft and clear.
Nutrition. If water is the foundation, then nutrition is the building block. You are what you eat, and your skin is a major indicator of everything you put inside your body. Eat at least 70% raw food in your daily diet. This creates an alkaline environment inside the body that makes for amazing skin!
Exercise. Working out improves everything from circulation to helping the body produce more collagen and elastin. The result is a youthful and vibrant visage. Breaking a sweat every day is going to change your life!
Exfoliate. The epidermis needs some assistance in order to stay fresh—especially with factors like pollution, wearing lots of makeup, sun exposure, and aging. It has a lot of elements to deal with! How often you choose to exfoliate depends on your skin type—I like to exfoliate every night before bed. Exfoliating reveals the newest layer of skin—just be sure to follow this next step too!
Moisturize. Moisturizing is one of the big keys to glowing skin because without it your skin will be prone to damage and will become dry and age faster than it should. Use a natural moisturizer twice a day that contains ingredients like Jojoba oil, Lavender oil, green tea, etc. This will provide your body with what it needs to look great without compromising your health! I moisturize lightly in the morning and use a more concentrated moisturizer at night.
Cocoa Powder. This is my bronzer replacement! Use this in addition to any makeup that you are already wearing by applying it to your cheeks or any part of your face that you usually apply your bronzer to. I like using cocoa powder first of all because it’s CHOCOLATE! But beyond the great smell, it’s natural so you know it’s good for your skin and won’t clog pores! Plus it’s cheaper than buying the makeup version. Cocoa powder as makeup is my absolute favorite discovery and I know you will love it as much as I do!
Rose Water. Once I have finished doing my makeup I add this final touch! With a bottle of organic rose water in hand, I close my eyes and spray 3 squirts of it on my face and décolleté, right on top of my makeup. This hydrates the skin, sets the makeup, and gives you a dewy look without being greasy.
Follow all of these steps and enjoy your healthy, glowing skin even on the darkest winter day!
