Styles for all hair lengths!
The reoccurring theme in fall’s hair trends is effortless ease. Looks are modern with a definite tone of revival, but less perfect, loose, romantic and easy to create. No matter what your hair length, there is a fall trend that you can try and soon master to perfectly compliment your wardrobe.
Long hair looks. Say goodbye to that sleek and perfect ponytail, and hello to variations of braids and updos. Side braids and fishtail braids have been a look of choice for 2011. An effortless option comes to us with two braids in the form of the half up, braided hairstyle, to be worn with an effortless attitude. Part your bangs to the side or down the middle. Form braids going back. Secure with pins – its ok for it not to look perfect or even a little messy. Leave the bottom down, toss it with some gel or spray for texture. For a braided topknot, try pulling the bottom half of your hair up. Simply pull the unbraided bottom of your hair up, knot it with hair bands and secure with a couple pins.
Medium length looks are often just shorter versions of the longer ones, but with a daring attitude, and willingness for change, you can really spice of your style with fringe – hair that frames the face, and bangs. Loose wavy bobs are hot. The length is shoulder scraping and the style is not over curled, but relaxed and understated. The easiest way to achieve this is to throw in some loose curls, spritz with hairspray, then blast with your blow dryer to break things up. Finish with your favorite finishing spray.
So many of fall’s trends have that 70’s revival feel, so we have to mention the pixie. The pixie is the short sassy, daring crop that made its fashion imprint in the 60’s. Its back and it’s hot, and in true 2011 form, with lots of variations from fringe to boy cuts, or even rock chic. The pixie crop, while can be super short can be just as fabulous for those not willing to go to the very-short extremes, and also great for those without perfectly straight hair. Do a little research and even some computer simulation before you dare to go super short, but also keep two things in mind before you make that first cut: Consider donating your hair if you consider going super short. Second, its just hair and it will always grow back.
